Not that I needed another hobby that requires more specialty supplies...

Last year I started making hats. I've made felt wool, straw and buckram (fabric). (Okay, technically, I have not finished the buckram hat.) My favorite part of the process is blocking them, shaping the fabric to get the end result.

The whole process is more involved than I expected, a lot of handsewing of wires in brims, etc. I think it took me awhile to get into the groove, but now I love it.

I am making hats for myself as well as friends and family (at least those whose head sizes I know), so I decided to start taking pictures so I could remember what the ones I am giving away looked like.

Welcome to my virtual chapellerie.
